Close the tap or the chapter of your life

Amidst our childhood, everyone of us must have written short essay or poem aboutimportance of water but most of us forgot or we say neglect it in our day-to-day activities. While surfing Internet today, I came across the hot topic of week, World Water day and that redirected me to a page where I read those facts which left me in state of shock.

Here those are-

  • Almost 800 million people lack access to clean safe water every day
  • Almost 3 ½ million people die every year because of water and sanitation and hygiene-related causes
  • Every 21 seconds, another child dies from a water-related illness
  • More than 1 billion people still practice open defecation every day
  • The water crisis is the #1 global risk based on impact to society (as a measure of devastation), and the #8 global risk based on likelihood (likelihood of occurring within 10 years) as announced by the World Economic Forum, January 2015.

Never before, I became that conscious about things like saving water, environment and alike. But from the moment only today, I made a commitment to stop wastage of water and alert people on this.

Folks, by bringing minor changes in our daily life, we can see many litres. Let us take the pledge to save water. Will you?
