FIFA 2014 World Cup 2014 2nd Semi Final: Argentina Defeated the Netherlands 4-2 on Penalties


Lionel Messi is going to get his shot at the FIFA World Cup, as Argentina defeated the Netherlands 4-2 on penalties after the match ended scoreless in the teams’ semifinal clash on Wednesday.

Argentina reached the World Cup Final on Wednesday after beating the Netherlands 4-2 in a penalty shootout.

Goalkeeper Sergio Romero saved penalties by Wesley Sneijder and Ron Vlaar to give Argentina the win after the game finished 0-0 following extra time. Maxi Rodriguez put away the winning spot kick.

Argentina will play against Germany in Sunday’s final at the Maracana Stadium in Rio de Janeiro.
