Men are from Mars and Women are from Venus’. I often get asked the age-old question (by men) that “Who are the best entrepreneurs, men or women? I say gender doesn’t bring difference to the business but the ‘out-of-box’ thinking and plans that makes one better business people.

Enterpreneur

Gone are the times when business world is limited to the four corners of men. Today, womaniyas are giving tough competition to men. Over the past few years, there has been an upsurge in business start ups by female entrepreneurs. Today I’m discussing how women run businesses differently from men.

Top factors motivating women to become entrepreneurs are:

  • The desire to build wealth

  • The appeal of a start up culture

  • The wish to capitalize on a business idea they had

  • A long-standing desire to own their own company

  • Working for someone else did not appeal to them

Womenrepreneurs face a number of challenges as compared to their male peers. Men had and still have numerous opportunities, encouragement and resources to be successful as entrepreneurs. Thankfully, it has changed now and there are large no. of women entrepreneurs today than before.

Women have strong focus on values
According to Margaret Heffernan, the writer of,’How She Does It: How Women Entrepreneurs Are Changing the Rules of Business’, before planning anything else, women think about what their business will stand for . It’s not like that men do not, but most of the women entrepreneurs take it as the number one priority over anything else.

Women are less Egoistic
Pride sometimes come in men’s way. But most of the women don’t have a problem admitting that they are not sure how to accomplish a certain task or what needs to be done to play build-a-business game. It sometimes can become an advantage in growing business quickly.

Women are better at multitasking
They can balance multiple roles and work towards multiple priorities simultaneously. They don’t shy and will be equipped to handle the many-sided job of an entrepreneur.

Women are perfectionists
They
have high standards. They don’t settle for mediocre results and as a result, the business will save both time and money because sloppy work and haphazard mistakes will be avoided already.

Women take others into consideration

They build businesses that deliver value for all customers, employees, investors, stakeholders and founders. They aren’t in business just for their own gain and their “putting others’ first” attitude will help in running the business for long term.

Heffernan said it right, “women entrepreneurs are more like theconductor of the symphony – the person who doesn’t make the noise, but pulls it all together.”
