What is Corona Virus (Covid19)

The newly found COVID 19 corona virus has made the whole world stand still with its perilous effects on human health. This is not the new virus, but the freshly discovered strain on the existing corona family. As per the experts, this virus is believed to be a zoonotic in nature that is spreading through transmission between animals and people. Not only this, earlier viruses like corona, SARS, Ebola etc. were also caused due to the consumption of animal by people under unhygienic conditions.

This virus may cause symptoms ranging from intense cold, coughing, fever, kidney failure to the acute respiratory disorders like Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS-CoV) and Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS-CoV).

The main reason for this spread is that direct trade activity of CHINA with these nations and  also negligence during the initial stage of the outbreak.


Current Situation

Since December 2019, the havoc situation due to the COVID 19 has continued to disperse across the world with an increasing number of infected people and death toll. These have not only created a hazardous impact on the health conditions, but also lead to the economic crisis. Despite death tolls have reached over 7000, still no vaccinations or curative medicines were found for this virus, which makes COVID 19 more dangerous than the normal influenza other other earlier found viruses.

Although India shares a long border with China, but still country has managed to restrict this infection from spreading like other nations. The first case was from Kerala and now infected person toll reaches to 174 till Tuesday 17 March 2020. Cases may be very less but it can’t be ignored that these are increasing & project potential threats of life in the country. Both State as well as Central government are taking important steps on the front foot and also announced shut down of schools & colleges till 31 March. Further, all public gatherings have been cancelled, proper sanitation process is going on throughout the state.

In COVID 19 virus infection, people may feel following symptoms

  •     Acute pneumonia
  •     Difficulty in breathing
  •     Kidney Failure
  •     Organ Failure
  •     Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS-CoV)
